The pecunary jurisdiction for the District Consumer Courts is Rs 20 Lakhs, and while you need to approach State Commission in your state in case of value of goods/compensation claimed exceeds 20 Lakhs.

    Good Morning,

    I received an electricity bill from NDPL of Rs. 19539/- in dec 2010 with a disconnection notice. They have transferred the dues of a temporary connection which was disconnected in 2005 & a new permanent connection was provided. I approached CRGF (Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum) for NDPL. Per order passed by CGRF in May 2011, NDPL has to pay me Rs. 3900/- (appx) as the security deposit as security of the temporary connection was never refunded by NDPL. Instead of refunding the money, they have sent another disconnection notice and with the non-payment dues of Rs 1450. I wrote to district manager of NDPL against the harassment & contempt of CGRF but no action was taken on complaint. Moreover, NDPL was sending their collection agents to collect the payment and disconnection of electricity, though all my current bills were paid. This was very embarrassing in neighborhood. Eventually, I approached CDRF and filled a case against the contempt of court, mental harassment, threatening & for embarrassing dec 2011.
    Please suggest does consumer law give me a legal right to ask for an apology and compensation from NDPL.

    timtara. then i purchased i phone from timtara using that code. i already
    paid for that from 3rd of january and it was still not recieved. my order
    no is 10074523. please do something about it. please contact timtara
    regarding this. i called up them and they are not recieving my call.

    I, the undersigned, Varghese Winston, hereby state as under, working with “Hesel Engineering Pvt. Ltd,” in Cochin as a “MIS Coordinator”. I have a Salary Account in HDFC Bank (A/C # 05201050073480), Palarivattom, Cochin, Kerala. My HDFC Bank Customer ID is 32789089. And also HDFC issued Credit Card number is 4346781008931743.

    The card limit is Rs.15000/-. At that time I employed with Hesel Engineering Pvt. Ltd. I have used this efficiently nearly more than Five Months. I met with an accident in the meanwhile and fractured my right hand, Due to financial constraints; I was not able to pay my credit card payments for two months. But I had paid promptly for the previous five months.

    I used to get calls frequently from HDFC bank collection team insisting me to make a payment of Rs.1000/- in order not to deactivate my card. I had discussed all the financial problems as well as about the fracture on my wrist, which allowed neither go to my office nor paid for those days from the office.
    I have requested HDFC bank people to give one more month to make payment, but they send certain people to my residence and asked for the complete amount, when I enquired about the same one of the executives from HDFC recovery team holding Mob Number: 9846233244, talked inappropriately and threatened that he knows how to collect the amount, At first I decided to go with cyber cell, but one of my friend turned me off, later I got a call form one of the landlines from HDFC bank recovery team and again asked to settle the amount, then I asked for the misbehavior of the executive to me, and also replied that once the bank called me for the settlement only I’ll pay the amount, there were lots of disputes with the credit card account that I’m being charged higher for not paying the amount for the past couple of months, till then I used to get calls in my land phone and sometimes my mother who is very old would be handling the phone but the executives from HDFC whoever calls up insist her to make the payment using filthy language and improper words.

    In the meanwhile I lost my Job in December 2010 and for months I could not find out a new job, because of the financial problem, I decided to settle my PF account (KR/19859/534) and the amount was supposed to come to the above said HDFC account as there was no bank account with me, If I was working with one of the other employers, I would get one of the other bank accounts. On 13th May 2011, My PF account settled and an amount of 22706/- has been credited to my HDFC Bank account, I withdrew an amount of 6500/- and by the evening when I checked in the ATM and the balance was 0.00INR, Checked with the net banking and understood that the amount has been held from the bank, but the bank was not informed me before holding the amount, survival in jobless situation was very crucial.
    HDFC Bank held an amount of 16206/- in my account, but I have used the credit card for purchasing around 8000/- and the bill amount reflects as 25916/-, Secondly I’ll have to get time to settle my credit card. I have not authorized HDFC bank for blocking my account and recovering money without giving intimation, I also have not activated the feature of auto debit.

    Later I went to the Credit card department of HDFC bank for the settlement and asked for the non usage waiver, they were not given any waiver and they have posted this Rs.16206/- to credit card account and asked for another 9000/- to settle.

    After 8 months 13/01/2012, two of the recovery executives came to my home and threatened my aged parents and checked with my relatives and friends using filthy language. Now I would like to file a complaint against the HDFC bank for the way they hard collect the amount. I ‘m very much afraid about the rowdies whoever comes at home regularly and now claim an amount of 17000/ due for immediate payment.

    I have done work in construction of TELECOM TOWER in Civil Work as a Sub Vendor under ESSENN COMMUNICATION, SILIGURI and the order of the work was from INDUS TOWER LTD. It has been 2 years since the work is completed but I have not got the full payment yet. After paying Rs. 1 lac to me they have not paid the the remaining due amount to me but INDUS TOWER LTD claimed that they had made the full payment to ESSENN COMMUNICATION.From the last 2 years I have repeatedly asked for the due payment but they had not given me any amount instead of that they are making useless excuses. After refusing to paid the due amount to me, I have filled a complaint in CONSUMER FORUM regarding the matter. Their lawyer petition that this case is not a case of CONSUMER FORUM and the case is under processed.
    Its my humble request to you to please inform me whether the case is of CONSUMER FORUM or not and kindly help me in solving the case.

    SB account in Bhiwandi Branch where I am Presently Living. Problem is that I Have Only Minimum Documents That is RENT AGREEMENT FOR

    ADDRESS PROOF AND VOTER ID PAN CARD AND MY SBI PASS BOOK FOR IDENTITY PROOF. The Bank person said that U dont have enough documents to

    open an account in our branch. but I have an Rent agreement on Rs. 100 Stamp Paper and also Already had Accountbut Bank Authorised Person

    said those are not valid for open an account. and also customer care exicutive said that India Passport also not valid address proof

    valid for only ID Proof.

    so pls help me what to do….

    Dear sir/Madam

    I was using idea cellular and my number is 96050*****.
    My complaint is about inactivation of sim.
    Sir I was using the sim for past 6 years, I couldnt use the service for past 3 months.
    As per the customer care I recharged for 500 INR to make the connection valid for 1 year.
    The customer care has informed that the number is in market and they cannot help with this.

    Please kindly advise me how to activate my sim.

    Dear Sir / Madam,

    Mr. Abhilash one of 100best buy.com Executive called me on 23rd of Decemeber 2011 and told me about Apple I Pod worth Rs. 10,700/- and Reebok Wrist Watch for that I would have to pay Rs. 1164/- the Vat 5%. I agreed to that. I received the Product on 31st of December at around 1.00 p.m. When I opened the Parcel the Reebok Wrist Watch Belts was broken and The I Pod which I recived was of Local company and the packing of I Pod was in a Broken Plastic Box.
    I am trying to contact since then to 100best buy.com but no one is trying to help me out. I have talked with Mr. Anil kumar / Mr. Avinash / Mr. Prashant. They are telling me to send the Product which I have received, but how can I send the Product back. They are not responding or helping me to short this problem. So, I request you to please take legal action angainst 100best buy.com and I want my money back.

    Kindly, receive it and do the needful.

    I bought a flat in Mumbai. The property builder gave a building plan and with the same plan the property was registered. The plan had a slith parking at ground floor in all the three wings A,B & C. Now he is building flats on ground floor with no new plan approved.
